Proctor Policy

Distance Learning Students

All Enterprise State Community College students enrolled in distance learning courses are required to take a minimum of one proctored exam per course (actual number of proctored exams is determined by each instructor).

Honorlock is an online proctoring solution offered by Enterprise State Community College that allows students to take exams from the comfort of home. Honorlock requires a computer, webcam, and an Internet connection. Students do not need to create an account or schedule a time with Honorlock since the service is available 24/7. Exam sessions are recorded via webcam, allowing students to test at their convenience.

Honorlock is very simple! All you will need to do is log into Canvas and click on the quiz you need to take. You will be prompted to add the Honorlock Chrome Extension, which is required to take your exam. You are required to use Google Chrome as your browser. Then you will need to take a picture, show your ID, and scan your room. Honorlock will be recording you VIA webcam and they will be recording your screen. They also have an integrity algorithm that can detect search-engine use, so do not attempt to cheat or look up answers.

Students are not allowed to use electronic devices or any other materials during proctored tests or proctored assignments unless approved by the instructor.

Non-Enterprise State Community College Students

Individuals who are not enrolled in a credited Enterprise State Community College (ESCC) course may use the College’s proctoring service for a fee. The proctoring service fee is $35.00 per course for one person for one semester.

ESCC’s Proctoring Service is provided by a designee at any ESCC campus site. To take a proctored an exam:

Individuals must contact one of the official College proctors;
Individuals will coordinate testing arrangements with the testing institution and proctor;
The proctoring service fees are paid to the Business Office by the individuals requesting the service. The Business Office will issue receipts to the individuals;
Individuals must present receipts to the proctor before exams/tests will be administered;
Individuals are required to present a photo ID to the proctor at the time of the exam; and,
Proctors will follow test administration guidelines established by the testing institution for the particular exam. Active duty military personnel are exempted from the proctor service fee.

Enterprise State Community College Employees

The proctor service fee is waived for ESCC employees provided they present a current employee identification card.
