Admissions Classifications and Required Admissions Documentation

First Time Freshman: An applicant who has graduated from high school or earned a GED but has not attended a postsecondary institution after graduating high school or earning a GED.

  • Completed admissions application as a first time freshman for the initial semester of enrollment.
  • Final, official high school transcript with graduation date, signature of school official, and seal or official GED transcript with Pass Date.
  • Final, official college transcripts for all postsecondary institutions attended (if applicable).
    •  In-Progress transcripts are not evaluated for transfer credit or accepted for satisfying admissions requirements.
    • All postsecondary institutions previously attended must be disclosed on the application. Failure to do so may result in denial of the application or expulsion from the College.
    • Applicants that have earned an associate degree or higher are not required to submit the official high school transcript or official GED transcript.

Transfer: An applicant who has graduated from high school or earned a GED and has attended a postsecondary institution after graduating high school or earning a GED.

  • Completed admissions application as a Transfer Student for the initial semester of enrollment.
  • Final, official high school transcript with graduation date, signature of school official, and seal or official GED transcript with Pass Date.
  • Final, official college transcripts for all postsecondary institutions attended.
    • In-Progress transcripts are not evaluated for transfer credit or accepted for satisfying admissions requirements.
    • All postsecondary institutions previously attended must be disclosed on the application. Failure to do so may result in denial of the application or expulsion from the College.
    • Applicants that have earned an associate degree or higher are not required to submit the official high school transcript or official GED transcript.

Readmitted/Returning: An applicant who has graduated high school or earned a GED and has previously attended Enterprise State Community College as their most recent postsecondary institution but has not attended Enterprise State Community College for three consecutive semesters.

  • Completed admissions application as a Readmitted/Returning Student for the initial semester of enrollment.
  • Final, official high school transcript with graduation date, signature of school official, and seal or official GED transcript with Pass Date.
  • Final, official college transcripts for all postsecondary institutions attended.
    • In-Progress transcripts are not evaluated for transfer credit or accepted for satisfying admissions requirements.
    • All postsecondary institutions previously attended must be disclosed on the application. Failure to do so may result in denial of the application or expulsion from the College.
    • Applicants that have earned an associate degree or higher are not required to submit the official high school transcript or official GED transcript.

Transient: An applicant who is enrolled at another postsecondary institution who is taking courses at Enterprise State Community College for the purpose of transferring credit to their home, postsecondary institution.

  • Completed admissions application as a Transient Student for the initial semester of enrollment.
  • Transient approval letter from the applicant's home, postsecondary institution.

Special/Non-Degree Seeking: An applicant who graduated high school or earned a GED but is not pursuing a degree or certificate at Enterprise State Community College.

  • Completed admissions application as a Special/Non-Degree Seeking Student for the initial semester of enrollment.
  • Final, official high school transcript with graduation date, signature of school official, and seal or official GED transcript with Pass Date.
  • Final, official college transcripts for all postsecondary institutions attended.
    • In-Progress transcripts are not evaluated for transfer credit or accepted for satisfying admissions requirements.
    • All postsecondary institutions previously attended must be disclosed on the application. Failure to do so may result in denial of the application or expulsion from the College.
    • Applicants that have earned an associate degree or higher are only required to submit the official transcript showing the degree has been conferred. If an applicant wishes to have a transcript evaluated for transfer credit, the applicant must notify the Admissions Office and official transcripts from all previously attended institutions must be submitted prior to the evaluation.

Accelerated High School: A secondary education student who is earning college credit while still enrolled in high school. Accelerated high school students must have successfully completed 10th grade, earned a 3.0 or higher cumulative unweighted high school GPA, and received approval from a high school counselor. Accelerated credit may not substitute for high school graduation requirements.

  • Completed admissions application as an Accelerated High School Student for the initial semester of enrollment.
  • Signed Statement of Eligibility form by a high school counselor.

Dual Enrollment: A secondary education student who is earning college credit while still enrolled in high school. Dual enrollment high students must have successfully completed 10th grade, earned a 3.0 or higher cumulative unweighted high school GPA, and received approval from a high school counselor. Dual enrollment credit may be applied toward high school graduation requirements and college requirements.

  • Completed admissions application as a Dual Enrollment Student for the initial semester of enrollment.
  • Signed Statement of Eligibility form by a high school counselor.
