Certification of Veterans

The following criteria will be used for certifying veterans or other eligible persons:

  • The School Certifying Official (SCO) in the Office of Financial Aid at Enterprise State Community College is responsible for certifying the enrollment of the veterans and their dependents electronically via the Department of Veterans Affairs certification program, Enrollment Manager. Veterans must have all military or transfer credits evaluated by the end of their first semester at ESCC.
  • Veterans must have all military or transfer credits evaluated by the end of their first semester at ESCC.
  • Prior to certification, veterans and/or dependents of veterans must complete all admissions requirements for ESCC, complete the appropriate application for benefits, and submit a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or Statement of Benefits to the ESCC VA office to confirm proof of benefit.
  • Veterans and dependents using VA benefits must submit an ESCC VA Certification Request Form each semester after enrolling in courses. Failure to do so will result in certification not being sent to the VA for processing. It is the student's responsibility to notify the ESCC VA office if their schedule is revised at any point within the semester.
  • Certification will be granted for only those courses which are applicable to the declared program of study. Any deviation from this list of courses must be approved in writing. Audit or community services courses are not eligible. Remedial classes will be certified if the need is indicated by ACCUPLACER test results; however, online remedial courses cannot be certified by VA.
  • Veterans must be recertified for educational benefits when they re-enter college after an interruption of their educational program. THIS RECERTIFICATION MUST BE INITIATED BY THE VETERAN.

Processing by the Veterans’ Administration can take up to six to eight weeks (60 days). ELIGIBILITY IS DETERMINED BY THE VETERANS’ ADMINISTRATION, NOT BY ENTERPRISE STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

For additional information about the full range of veterans’ programs available through the Veterans’ Administration, contact the Veterans’ Administration Regional Office, P.O. Box 8888, Muskogee, OK 74402-8888 or the Veterans’ Affairs Office at Enterprise State Community College.

  • Three-fourths payment (9-11 credit hours)
  • One-half payment (6-8 credit hours)
  • Less-than-half-time (5 or fewer credit hours) will not receive a monthly stipend; however, reimbursement will be made for tuition and fees only
