Building Trades Technician

The Building Trades Technician certificate program prepares students for entry-level employment in the construction and building maintenance industries. The program provides practical, hands-on training combined with foundational technical knowledge across multiple building trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and basic safety. Students develop essential skills in the use of hand and power tools, print reading, materials selection, jobsite safety practices, and basic repair and installation techniques. Emphasis is placed on industry standards, problem-solving, teamwork, and workplace professionalism. Upon completion of the certificate, graduates are prepared for positions such as building trades technician, construction laborer, maintenance technician, or apprentice in various skilled trades.
