Prerequisite

It is imperative that students first successfully complete ART121 (Two-Dimensional Composition). ART121 introduces the basic concepts of two-dimensional composition. Topics include the elements of art/design and principles of art/design with emphasis on the arrangements and relationships among them on a two-dimensional surface. ART127 builds upon those arrangements and relationships while introducing a third dimension—depth. Depth adds an additional level of complexity that requires planning and preparatory sketches from multiple vantage points and angles. This increase in complexity demands that the student first have a good grasp of the basic principles and elements of art/design learned in ART121.
