Degree Requirements
A student shall be awarded the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or Associate in Applied Science degree upon satisfactory completion of the requirements of the specific program as specified by the College to grant the degree and according to the Alabama Community College System policies. A student must complete current program requirements for a degree if their enrollment has been interrupted for one year or more.
A student must:
- Satisfactorily complete a minimum of 60-64 semester hours of credit as appropriate in an approved program of study, including prescribed general education courses;
- Earn a 2.0 cumulative grade point average in all courses attempted at the College. The calculation of the grade point average for graduation shall not include grades earned in transfer credit courses. A course may be counted only once for purposes of meeting graduation requirements. A student must have a “C” average in both English 101 and 102 to be awarded an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or an Associate in Applied Science;
- Complete at least 25% of semester credit hours required of the degree through courses from Enterprise State Community College in applied science degrees that require English 101 and English 102. A grade of “D” will be accepted for English 101 in Associate in Applied Science degrees that do not require English 102;
- Submit a formal online application for graduation in accordance with institutional policy;
- Fulfill all financial obligations to the College; and,
- Meet graduation requirements for the appropriate catalog. Students are guided by the Enterprise State Community College catalog in effect their first term of enrollment as long as they maintain continuous enrollment (except summer term). Students may elect to be guided by a new catalog during their continuous enrollment period. Breaking continuous enrollment will result in students being guided by the catalog in effect the term they re-enroll. Students who change majors will be guided by the catalog in effect at the time the new major is declared.
