Advanced Manufacturing Certificate
The Advanced Manufacturing certificate provides a highly interactive hands-on course of study that prepares graduates for careers in the modern manufacturing environment. Advanced manufacturing certificate graduates will be capable of repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment including automated control systems, process control systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors, robots, and application-specific machinery. Course and lab work includes electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, programmable logic controller, robotics, process control, and mechatronics topics.
Note that AAS degree, certificate, and short-term certificate programs are not designed to be transfer programs.
Basic Industrial Electronics Short-Term Certificate
The Basic Industrial Electronics certificate prepares students for a career as an electronic technician. Technicians are involved in all phases of industrial and commercial installation, maintenance, and repair of today’s modern equipment. Students will learn about many areas of electronics including safety, AC/DC circuits, solid state devices, digital circuits, and industrial electronics. Hands-on labs will expose the student to basic component operation, circuit construction, residential and industrial wiring concepts, and measurement tools of the trade.
Note that AAS degree, certificate, and short-term certificate programs are not designed to be transfer programs.
Basic Industrial Mechanics Short-Term Certificate
The Basic Industrial Mechanics certificate is designed to prepare students for a career in the operation, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment. A foundation of technical knowledge and mechanical skills on a variety of systems will be developed including precision measurement and quality control, introductory AC/DC circuits, mechanical drive systems, motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programmable logic controllers. Hands-on labs will develop observational, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills that are essential in an industrial maintenance technician.
Note that AAS degree, certificate, and short-term certificate programs are not designed to be transfer programs.
CNC Operator/Programmer Short-Term Certificate
The CNC Operator/Programmer short term certificate prepares students for employment as entry-level operators and technicians in the manufacturing industry. The program provides applied skills in precision measurement, blueprint reading, process planning, quality control, set-up, and operation of Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines for current and future needs of the manufacturing industry. This program introduces students to manual data programming for both the mill and lathe. The program emphasizes a combination of theory with hands-on practical application necessary for successful employment.
